liftrue has extended its HMPE line beyond round slings with a new flat webbing series: five configurations covering 2 t to 40 t WLL, with engineered sizes to 100 t.
What's in the series
Endless and endless 2-ply slings suit general lifting and choker work. Eye-and-eye and eye-and-eye 2-ply add reinforced flat eyes for hook and shackle attachment. A wide-body version, developed for pipe handling, spreads the bearing surface for drums and large-diameter loads. Every sling is marked with WLL, material, length and traceability code.
Material characteristics
At the same WLL, an HMPE webbing sling weighs about one-eighth of a steel wire rope sling, so crews can rig it by hand while the crane keeps its capacity for the payload. Elongation runs under 1% at WLL, the fiber resists corrosion in seawater and salt air, and the woven body holds up well against abrasion for a textile sling. The flat, wide body stays balanced through the lift and is gentle on coated or painted surfaces. Edge protection is still recommended on sharp corners, as with any textile sling.
Where it fits
Offshore wind is the clearest application: monopile sections, transition pieces, tower components and turbine blades are heavy, handled on salt-exposed sites, and finished in coatings that have to survive the lift. The low weight eases deck handling and pre-shipment marshalling; the corrosion resistance holds up in marine conditions; the flat bearing surface protects the coating on large-diameter sections.
The wide-body version was built for long petroleum pipe sections and large-diameter thin-wall pipe, carrying them without the point pressure that dents walls or damages coating. The same flat bearing surface suits transformers and other machined components where surface finish matters, and general crane work where a lighter sling speeds up rigging.
Availability
Standard sizes 3–7 days; custom-engineered orders 2–4 weeks. Every shipment carries batch material certification and a declaration of conformity, and every sling is proof-load tested with its own test certificate. Drawings, spec sheets and quotes can be requested through the HMPE slings product page or the engineering team.
