Single-Use Lifting Sling Safety & Usage Guidelines

CRITICAL: Single-use (one-way) slings are designed for ONE lift only — never reuse a sling that has already supported a load, even if it appears undamaged

Destroy or recycle each sling immediately after the lift is complete to prevent accidental reuse; cut the webbing or remove the identification tag

Inspect the entire sling before the single lift — looking for cuts, abrasion, broken yarns, or chemical damage incurred during storage and transport

Confirm the WLL marked on the tag matches or exceeds the load weight; single-use slings are typically white polyester with a single-use identifier

Position the sling so the load is supported in basket or vertical hitch — single-use slings are usually not rated for choker hitch

Use protective padding on sharp load edges; the lightweight webbing is more cut-sensitive than reusable slings

Apply angle-factor derating for any multi-leg single-use arrangement per EN 1492-1

Operating temperature range: -40°C to 100°C for polyester; do not use near welding arcs or molten splatter

If any defect is found before the lift, discard the sling and use a new one — there is no economic case for risking a one-way sling
