Lifting Nets FAQs

Lifting nets are ideal for irregular, boxy, or bagged loads that cannot be safely lifted with a single sling, such as stacked boxes, bags, and odd-shaped industrial components.

WLL is based on mesh strength, border rope construction, number of attachment points, and intended load distribution. We calculate and certify this for each custom design.

Lifting nets are manufactured to EN 1263-1 with reinforced attachment points. We can provide test reports, material certificates, and custom design calculations.

Please share the net dimensions, mesh size, cargo type and weight, number of lifting points, and any UV or abrasion requirements. A photo or drawing of the load is helpful.

Yes. We use UV-stabilized polyester and reinforced border ropes for outdoor exposure. Specify your environment so we can recommend the right material and coating.

Check the mesh for cuts, abrasion, or broken joints, and inspect border ropes and attachment points for wear or damage. Confirm the WLL label is legible and remove damaged nets from service.

Inspect mesh integrity, border ropes, and all attachment points (corner rings, lifting rings) before each lift — a damaged border rope or worn attachment ring can cause total net failure

Confirm the net is rated for the load — lifting nets carry a working load limit (WLL) per EN 1263-1 that already accounts for typical load shapes

Distribute the load evenly across the net — never lift a point load concentrated in one mesh cell; pad sharp corners to prevent mesh cuts

Verify all four (or more) attachment points are connected to the lifting beam or master link with correctly sized shackles; never lift from fewer attachment points than the net is designed for

Apply angle-factor derating for the lifting slings above the net — as the included angle between net corner slings increases, tension in each corner rises sharply

Inspect mesh knots (or welded joints) for slippage, broken strands, or chemical/UV degradation — synthetic mesh loses strength with prolonged UV exposure

Keep the load stable during the lift — lifting nets can swing if the load center of gravity is off-center; use tag lines to control rotation

Operating temperature range: -40°C to 100°C for polyester/polyamide net; keep away from welding arcs, molten splatter, and chemical spills

Retire immediately if you see cut mesh strands, broken border rope, deformed attachment rings, chemical damage, heat marks, missing tags, or any structural deformation
